Recommended Bookmakers

Most bookmaker referral sites – I have seen – will recommend the same old bookmakers time and time again, and the only reason why, is because that bookmaker pays the referral site a good rate of commission. How many times have you visited a website, where they recommend a bookmaker – probably giving it 4.5 stars out of 5, but when you look deeper, they haven’t actually given any reason why they recommend that bookmaker?

Here at, things are different. We will only recommend a bookmakers for valid reasons, and we will give you those valid reasons.

Bookmakers these days need to offer us more than just a half decent free bet on sign up, and nothing else afterwards. There are bookmakers out there offering existing customers all sorts of incentives, such as regular free bets, enhanced odds, and money back specials – these are the sort of bookmakers we will be recommending here.

Don’t let your bookmaker take your custom for granted. If they don’t give you any incentives, then ditch them and move on. Below are the five main bookmakers we recommend using, and the reasons why.

Betfair – Betfair offer a great deal of variation these days. Under one login, you have access to their Sportsbook and Betting Exchange, and all the other usual stuff, such as Casino, Poker, Bingo, etc.

The thing I like best is during the football season on a Saturday afternoon I can trade a match on their Betting Exchange, and simply switch to their Sportsbook if I fancy placing an in-play (or pre match) accumulator. If you are using the Betting Exchange, one massive negative and thing to keep an eye on is the amount of times it crashes, usually during peak periods.

The Betfair Sportsbook offers daily enhanced odds for existing customers, these could be doubles on Football matches, or a player to score etc.

Other existing customers offer include a free bet if you back a winner in any live Channel 4 race at odds on 3/1 or greater. They also regularly offer money back on sports such as Cricket, Formula 1, Rugby Union, Darts and Gaelic Games.

You can open a Betfair account here and claim their welcome free bet.

Coral – Coral seem to place a large emphasis on making sure they have plenty of offers available for existing customers, their offers page is always packed with money back offers on a whole host of sports, and is regularly updated for the latest events.

During the football season there are enhanced odds specials on a daily basis, such as enhanced odds on players to score, or an enhanced double or treble on teams winning.

Other regular offers available are their Golf Acca Insurance, and Tennis Acca Insurance, these offers see you get your money back as a free bet if one result from your accumulator lets you down. Acca Insurance also sees you get your money back on football if one team lets you down in a ‘To Win and Both Teams To Score’ 4-fold or greater acca.

Another fabulous Coral offer is money back as a free bet if your horse is beaten into second place by a head or less, or on the Greyhounds, you will get your money back as a free bet if your dog is beaten by a Length or less.

The final Coral offer for existing customers we will highlight is their Bet £20 Get £10 Horse Racing promotion. If you back a horse on Saturday in any of the live Channel 4 races, you get a £10 free bet to use on Sunday’s Horse Racing.

You can open a Coral account here and claim their welcome free bet.

Paddy Power – Paddy Power are the self proclaimed home of the money back special, and in fairness to them, it would be hard to argue with that. Although many bookmakers have seemingly now caught them up with these offers, back in the day – along with Fred Done (now Betfred) – they pioneered these sort of offers, so we have a lot to thank them for.

These days the offers still exist. If it is a popular event that attracts public interest, then Paddy Power will more than likely have an offer available on it.

Sports that Paddy Power specialise in with their promotions for existing customers are Football, Golf, Horse Racing, Cricket, Darts and Gaelic Games.

In major Golf tournaments like the Open Championship, US Masters, etc, most bookmakers might offer 5 or 6 places (it is a standard 4 each-way places), but Paddy Power will normally go the extra yard and pay out on 7 places.

They also offer things like Double Odds if your winning top run scorer bet in Cricket scores a 50 or a 100, or money back as a free bet if your player finishes with a 100+ checkout in Darts. In GAA they might offer Double Odds if your First Goalscorer bet wins inside the first 15 minutes, etc.

The other popular Paddy Power offer for existing customers is their ‘Bet £20 Get £10’ promotion. This is an offer that generally runs on big football matches, but has also been run on major sporting events like Wimbledon. In this offer if you bet £20 on a football match pre kick-off, you get two £5 free bets to use in-play.

This is a great offer if you are having twenty quid on the live match on Sky Sports anyway. For example, if you are planning to have £20 on Man Utd to beat Arsenal, then it is worth using Paddy Power if this offer is active, as you will get two free bets to use in-play.

You can open a Paddy Power account here and claim their welcome free bet.

bet365 – bet365 is a bookmaker that puts a very strong emphasis on offering existing customers plenty of perks to keep us with them. They are not gimmicky, and they don’t generally splash eye catching offers across the airwaves like Paddy Power might do, to name one.

bet365 also have one of the best new account offers – a market busting £200 Welcome Bonus.

Once you become a bet365 customer you will find that they have an outstanding array of offers for existing customers.

On football, they have a 100% Euro Soccer Bonus, Unlimited Each-Way Places on first goalscorer bets paid at 1/3 of the odds, and 0-0 Bore Draw Money Back on selected markets. From time-to-time they also have probably the best football offer available – their £50 in-play free bet, which is available to all customers – both new and existing customers.

bet365 are also very strong on Horse Racing offers. They were one of the pioneers of the many ITV live horse racing offers that you see today, with their bet365 ITV Racing 4/1 offer. As well as the ITV Horse Racing promo, they also run a Feature Race 4/1 offer, which is essentially the same as the ITV offer, except the Feature Race promo sees certain races selected for the 4/1 offer on days when there is no live racing on either of ITV’s channels.

bet365 also pay out on disqualified horses (Win and Each-Way bets) on all races in the UK and Ireland, and this includes bets placed Ante-Post.

You can open a bet365 account here and claim their welcome free bet.

If you just milk Paddy Power for the £10 free bets, and bet365 for the £50 free bets, these offers will more than likely be withdrawn, and in some cases your account could be closed. If you use them both for general betting, then you should be okay.
