Betting Guide – England V West Indies 2nd Test, Day 4

Betting Guide

After West Indies dodgy start with the bat yesterday evening it now looks like a bet on the weather or a Shiv Chanderpaul marathon innings as they would seem to be the only thing standing between England and a 2-0 series win.

Although the onus should be on West Indies to go for the win to square the series, it would seem all the more likely they will look for a creditable draw – damage limitation seemed to be the main focus for Ramnaresh Sarwan and Shivnarine Chanderpaul during their stand of 26 from 11 overs in the closing stages of the 3rd day.

It remains to be seen whether the condititons will continue to favour Jimmy Anderson but you get the impression that if England can get the overs in they will get the result. A best price of evens on England from Sportingbet could be good value betting as also Onions and Bresnan will be keen to impress and press their claims for an Ashes starting place.

At 500/1 only the brave or stupid would be betting on a West Indies win, the key to the match is going to be the partnership between Chanderpaul and Sarwan, break that partnership early and it should England’s victory, if they can get a solid start and take West Indies towards the follow on target they will secure the draw.
