There has been posturing for months now, but today the starting gun for all the respective 2015 general election campaigns was officially fired as David Cameron went to see the Queen, to get Parliament officially dissolved.
The dissolution of Parliament brings to an end the 5 year term of Parliament, and means campaigning can officially start for the 650 seats available in the Houses of Commons that will be decided when the general election take place on Monday 7th May 2015.
At the moment, the Tories are ahead in the betting to win the highest total amount of seats (out of the 650 available), they can be backed at a best price of 1/2 with Skybet and Ladbrokes. The betting on the winner of most seats is a two horse race, with the other horse in the race being Labour. Ed Miliband’s Labour Party are available at 7/4 with most layers.
If you are betting on the To Win Most Seats market, it is important to note that this isn’t the same bet as to win the general election, or to be the Prime Minister – more information can be found on our General Election Betting page.
