It’s the second and final day of the Unibet Masters Darts today, and there are more mouthwatering clashes in the offing as Phil Taylor takes on Gary Anderson in what looks – on paper – the main event in the afternoon’s four quarter-final matches.
Starting at 1pm on ITV4, Mervyn King takes on Justin Pipe in the first quarter-final. They are followed by James Wade V Adrian Lewis, Michael van Gerwen V Dave Chisnall and finally Taylor V Anderson.
The four winners go onto contest the semi-finals in the night session, and the final follows them immediately afterwards.
Outright winner betting sees Michael van Gerwen as the favourite, he is a best price of 6/4 with Sportingbet. It could be said that van Gerwen was a bit lucky against Barney (beating him 10-9) last night, as van Barneveld threw for the match and had an absolute stinker of a leg.
Taylor on the other hand demolished Wes Newton in his match, and on that form it wouldn’t have been a surprise to see as outright favourite to win the title, Taylor is currently a best price of 11/4 with 888Sport (who are offering new customers £88 in free bets).
The fact that he is up against an in form Gary Anderson in front of a partisan Scottish crowd might be the reason why MCG is ahead of Taylor in the betting, as Taylor looked the more impressive in yesterday’s 1st round matches.
Adrian Lewis is third in the betting, he is a best price of 9/1 with bet365. Anderson and James Wade are both 10/1 with Skybet.
After that come the three outsiders. Dave Chisnall is 20/1 with bet365 (£200 Welcome Bonus, while Mervyn King and Justin Pipe complete the betting, both coming in at 25/1 with Sportingbet.
