West Indies have put their contract disputes with the Cricket Board on hold for the time being as they prepare for the final match of the England tour. The West Indian players are still to resolve the disagreement and are now threatening to pull out of the return tour to England next month instead. All of this can’t have been great preparation for them in what is a very important match for them – win this and they have completed the clean sweep over England.

England have just about got over the latest Kevin Pietersen affair and have got both he and Andrew Flintoff available for selection today after injury scares. The latest media frenzy to engulf England is that this is a must win game for Andy Flower if he wants the job of team coach on a permanent basis, Andrew Strauss has already been batting away questions on this issue in the build up to Friday’s match. The press always seem to need something to get stuck into.

On the team news front the West Indies have brought Sulieman Benn back into the squad and he looks set to play instead of Nikita Miller who injured his back in the last match. England’s only dilemma is whether or not to bring back spinner Gareth Batty – probally at the expense of Steve Harmison again.
